“Phoenix Rising” -a mural by Nathan Gomez

This piece was created a year ago, during the Glass fires and that experience hit me; too close to home. When asked if I could paint a mural for Perch & Plow restaurant’s outdoor patio area in Courthouse Square, I wanted to create something uplifting and positive for all those first responders and Firefighters. Now I’m honored to share it again with the people of downtown Santa Rosa. While I was out there painting, I met a filmmaker from Argentina, Cecilia Diaz-Cortez. She assisted me in finishing the project, as well directing a video to document the entire process from start to finish. This painting changed my life forever.
